Sunset Beach

Between 2000 and 2010 the population of Sunset Beach rose steadily from 1,824 to 3,572. Additionally, the town has the second lowest general fund tax rate of the 21 North Carolina oceanfront municipalities. The three main neighborhoods of this community were developed as golf course communities – making Sunset Beach real estate popular with golfers.

Known For

The smallest of the Brunswick Islands, Sunset Beach is reached by driving across the only remaining pontoon bridge on the East Coast. This small island offers a very natural and secluded feel with its marsh areas and large dune ridges. Twin Lakes restaurant is a great family dining destination that has been open for over 40 years. The menu has seafood specials that change every day depending on the best local catches brought in by fishermen. This venue also has many tasty beef and poultry selections to pick from.
