Cape Fear Students Outperforming State in Science

New Hanover County and other districts in the Cape Fear are celebrating progress. The graduation rate is at the highest the district has ever seen which is a testament to the effectiveness of a recent structural revamp led by superintendent Tim Markley. Leading the charge were the middle school students. They scored higher than the state average in science which demonstrates their commitment to education and is a great sign of what is to come. The statistics also show that 83% of schools in the district met or exceeded growth expectations last year which, demonstrates how Cape Fear schools are on course to be some of the most competitive in the state.

Let’s tip our hat to our fantastic teachers and administrators who have made this impressive milestone possible. Education is important and our children deserve the best society has to offer.
