Although a relatively small town, the community does benefit from many features and services often found in larger cities. Moviegoers can stop in at the 10 screen Coastal Cinemas movie theater and enjoy the latest blockbusters to hit the big screen. This city is home to many great locally owned restaurants like The Purple Onion Café, which has its own full bakery and classic American fare. Another popular choice is Jerome’s Steaks & Seafood, which offers a full buffet with country cooking, and seafood. The restaurants in Shallotte are not to be missed.

River’s Edge Golf Club in Shallotte is a golfer’s dream. Designed by Arnold Palmer himself, these links became the first golf course in Brunswick County when they opened in 1999. The District Park on Main Street is another place to go when you want to get active outdoors. The park provides tennis, baseball, basketball, soccer and football accommodations. Another great option for excitement is the Planet Fun Family Entertainment Center. With 32 bowling lanes, a two-story laser tag arena, arcade, playground, mini golf and a restaurant, Planet Fun will not disappoint.
