The first person believed to have set foot on present day Brunswick County was Italian explorer Giovanni Verrazano in 1524.

The first “marketing campaign” for Brunswick County was published in 1666, in London, in the form of a pamphlet penned by Robert Horne.

Brunswick County is a popular destination for birding enthusiasts. Here bird watchers can spot warblers, painted buntings, bald eagles and several kinds of sparrows.
