Brunswick County is Attracting Home Builders

According to the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association, the housing market in Brunswick County has been improving since 2010. Specifically, the area is experiencing positive growth as seen through a huge increase in the number of building permit requests in the past 18 months because Brunswick County is attracting home builders.

The population of our county grew by almost 47% from 2000 to 2010, a number that is much higher than the overall state number of 18.5%. More and more builders are taking notice and moving in to the area. In fact, as of September of 2014 builders JordanBuilt Signature Homes, Trusst Builder Group, and Logan Homes had all either expanded or moved to the area with their design centers.

This is very notable move as these builders have to invest a lot of money to build model homes and design centers, signifying that they are confident in the area’s growth and bright future. It’s certainly an exciting time to live in Brunswick County.

The existing subdivisions in the area that are booming right now tend to be lifestyle communities that have nice amenities packages. Plus, the 50+ communities with amenities like this are also a huge portion of the growth as more and more people retire. Homes that are being constructed run the gamut from under $175,000 up to the high $600,000 – making living here affordable for people of varying incomes.
