Fantastic Educational Opportunities for Dyslexic Children

For over 15 years the teachers at the Brunswick Reading and Speech Center have been helping to reduce the stresses placed on struggling children who are suffering from dyslexia. Dyslexia can negatively impact a child’s self-image and confidence, so without any help, children can get very frustrated with the learning process. Luckily there are fantastic educational opportunities for dyslexic children in Brunswick County.

As of right now, there is not a specific test to determine if a child has dyslexia. Trained professionals can use formal evaluations that look at an individual’s ability to understand and implement spoken and written language. Evaluations will also identify areas of strength and weakness in skills that children need for reading. They also look at other factors, including family history.
