Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure
Ingram Planetarium: July 18th, 2:00-3:00 PM
Repeats Weekly Monday through Saturday until September 1st, 2014
Details: Take a trip back 80 million years to the time when dinosaurs ruled the earth and mind-blowing, unique creatures fought for survival in the prehistoric seas. Come see realistic images of awesome predators that prowled below the surface of Earth’s oceans.
Legends of the Night Skies
Ingram Planetarium: July 18th, 11:00-11:45 AM
Repeats Weekly Monday through Saturday until September 1st, 2014
Details: This show takes an imaginative angle on the legends and stories about Orion, the famed hunter of the winter sky.
Back to the Moon for Good
Ingram Planetarium: Monday through Saturday, 4:00-5:00 PM.
Repeats until September 1st, 2014.
Details: Watch a Tim Allen-narrated film about the race to win a $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE. This show tells the story of teams around the globe that are working to win the largest incentivized prize in history. Their mission? To land a robotic spacecraft on the moon for the 1st time in over 40 years, navigate 500 meters, and send video, data, and images back to Earth.
Odyssey of the Sea Turtle
Museum of Coastal Carolina: July 21st, 3:30-4:30 PM.
Repeats every Monday until August 30th, 2014.
Details: Members of the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization will talk about the sea turtles that frequent our shores every summer. Come learn about their life cycles and what everyone can do to help protect these wondrous animals.
Touch Tank Feeding
Museum of Coastal Carolina: Weekly – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until September 1st.
Details: Come help feed live hermit crabs, burrfish, sea urchins, sea stars, and other marine animals while learning about them.
